Confirmed: Nokia Using Mozilla in New Internet Devices

Thursday November 11th, 1999

You may recall that a few months ago we reported that Nokia was using Mozilla in prototypes of new Internet appliances. Nokia and Intel have now announced that they plan on releasing new "Internet-enhanced television solutions" next year which will utilize open standards and open source software. Their first product will run on Nokia and Intel developed hardware, with Linux as the OS and Mozilla as the browser.

Thanks to Daniel Bratell for the news.

Netscape would be a heck of a lot better than WebTV. And anything would be better than the Sega Dreamcast Web browser. I wonder if it would be possible to download plugins or install new Linux software.
