Next Developer Chat Wednesday

Monday November 8th, 1999

Our next developer chat is this Wednesday at 6:30pm PST (PST is GMT-0800) with Alec Flett of the Mozilla Mail/News team. The chat is titled "Mozilla Mail: Developing an Application in Mozilla", and Alec will be answering questions about that and about the new functionality of the Mail/News application.

The chat will be occurring in channel #mozillazine at irc.mozilla.org. If you don't have an IRC client, visit our chat page and use the Java-based IRC client, which will sign you into the server and take you directly to the channel. Be sure to read the instructions if you are new to IRC.

We will also be instituting a new policy during our chat: all questions must come to Jason or I (kerz or chrisn), and must not be posted in the channel directly. The developers are finding themselves overwhelmed by the questions, and we need to give them a little breathing room.

#1 A suggestion

Chris or Jason,

If you hadn't already considered it, make the room moderated (/mode #channel +m) and either voice (/mode +v) or op (/mode +o) the developers and anyone else who should be able to talk. That way, we HAVE to /msg you to get the questions through.
