New Chat Page Online
Thursday November 4th, 1999
We've finally got our chat page up and online. You can reach it via the navbar. On that page you'll find logs of previous chats, (the Pinkerton chat is there, too), as well as a link to a new small-footprint Java IRC client that you can use if you don't have an IRC client yourself. Give it a moment to start the first time you load it during a session - you'll see a blank screen, but it should appear within a short period of time. You will need to grant priveleges for the applet, too. It should work in IE5, but if you don't have Java in IE5 and you try starting it up, it'll crash your browser.

MozineAdmin: There is a bug in your script, it said there were two responses when there was actually only one, don't know why.

Wouldn't it make more sense to list the chats most-recent-first, like the articles?

It would be cool to use chatzilla on this Chat page, when that gets in with the nightlies...

Hm.. I'm using 4.7 on Windows 95 and the applet worked flawlessly, fast loading, no crashes.
If you don't like Java, why not find a IRC program? I dont know if there's another way to do chat easily inside a web browser.

While I'm here I do have one question:
Chris, my boy, is this a site for Mozilla news or anti-M$ bashing?
It's rather hard to tell.

Um, reporting that IE5 will crash if you start the page without java installed is hardly a bash. It's just a fact. Sheesh, some people are so sensitive.
