Milestone 10 For Sparc Solaris 7

Thursday October 14th, 1999

Roland Mainz writes, "Today I hooked up a M10 build for Solaris Sparc which is available here. ftp.mozilla.org should follow within a few hours...

Note that this build comes with separate GTK libraries due the problem that linking the toolkit statically doesn't work yet. See the included README for details."

There are some references to a Motif port of the lizard in the source tree (ie, files with motif in the name :-)

Whilst admittedly Motif is of secondary concern to a lot of people, the fact is that lots of organisations run Motif/CDE.

I don't want to hear any toolkit advocacy (please, I can goto /. for that ;-) I would just be interested to find out what is happening.

Cheers

"configure" failed because Xp (libXp ?) is missing in Solaris. Simple problem - and no solution (yet) :-(

From what I understand (haven't really looked around the motif tree) the motif lizard is really crufty and would take several days of uninturupted hacking by several coders to bring it up to snuf.

Mhhh, this is very bad - not supporting Motif means that Mozilla does not support one important industry standard more...
