Mozilla Article at Computer CurrentsSaturday July 17th, 1999Jhen wrote in to point out a nice article over at Computer Currents. It discusses M7, and describes some of the new features of the UI (which you are probably already aware of). `Milestone 7 lets you nest tables within tables or make every cell a different color.' ... and ... `Call up the Netscape Editor from the Edit menu and you have two new choices: Page Using Template and Page Using Draft.' Where has Ms Powell Crowe been since Netscape Navigator Gold 3.0 was released, I wonder? -- mpt There are more errors... The author mistakes the bug where when you click on a bookmark, a chromeless window is opened for a *feature* like IE's fullscreen. And what about when she describes flashes as being "news items *about the mozilla project*"... which misses the point behind the whole concept. Has the author heard of *research*? Despite the obligatory errors at least this was a positive review rather than another "Netscape has lost everything because there is no new browser" hatchet job. I think Netscape/AOL should keep Mozilla's progress in the press or suffer more inaccurate stories and disinformation on its status. Maybe some kind of press kit could be done where features could be mentioned as well as pointers to the latest status and builds could be used. |
