Wednesday June 2nd, 1999

Netscape has set up a number of new newsgroups for issues regarding designing websites to the standards, and for questions regarding Mozilla's new chrome based on XUL.

New mozilla newsgroups for people who want to design websites/webapps for mozilla:

1) netscape.public.dev.html- HTML 4.0 use & backward compatibility
2) netscape.public.dev.css - CSS use & backward compatibility
3) netscape.public.dev.dom - W3C DOM use
4) netscape.public.dev.rdf - RDF use
5) netscape.public.dev.xml* - XML use
6) netscape.public.dev.skins - Nav5 Skins use
7) netscape.public.dev.xul - Nav5 XUL use

Thanks to arielb for the news.

Kovu -- that's not a dead group, it's a hierarchy (`*' is a regular expression meaning `anything'). So in the future there may end up being netscape.public.dev.xml.musicml, netscape.public.dev.xml.chessml, netscape.public.dev.xml.chemml, etc.

(Moz actually should have put a `.' before the `*', but never mind.)
