The space bar works :)

Every time I press the stop button I get a JavaScript error...

JavaScript error: appCore.stop is not a function URL: file:///C|/MOZILLA/X86REL/res/samples/navigator.xul LineNo: 181

And some roll overs and animated gifs turn into text after they load, but if those are the only visible bugs in the ALPHA, you can tell this is going to be a great program!

Keep up the amazing work!

hmm... www.microsoft.com crashes the browser. Coincidence? I think not! ;D

Microsoft.com shouldn't crash the browser unless they added some funky HTML to it just recently. Netscape ran several "smokescreen" tests to improve the stability of M5.

Re Sun builds, according to Bruce Mitchell there were a few problems. dont know the specifics

You guys are really picking up the pace. Great work! Keep at it! I can't wait to watch Mozilla steamroll Microsoft's excuse for an upgrade.

I just built Mozilla on a FreeBSD 4-CURRENT system and it appears to work flawlessly apart from some building nits :-)

love it, but damn... on linux the UI is way too slow to be usable... everything else seems fine, but the way everything locks for the ui is frustrating... maybe as soon as finals get over, i'll take a peek at it.. some sort of ui threading seems necessary..

anon,

there are optimizations that will be made to fix this. They know where the problem lies, from what I've read in the newsgroups.

M5 is the first release that won't run on my computer. It always crashes at startup with the message "nsComponentManager: Load(xpprofile32.dll) FAILED with error: error 0". I'm kinda disappointed b/c I wanted to keep in touch with the progress

Awesome release. Some problems though. www.zdnet.com shows up screwed up. Also, when will the arrow keys start working ? Anyway, this release shows a ton of promise, I am hoping to convince some other developers at my company to start using gecko to do some proof of concept work for a multimedia delivery platform. With a animation/quicktime/avi plugin, gecko can easily replace Authoware or Director in a large number of multimedia projects. Possibilities are endless. Anyway, keep up the good work.

Looking at the release notes, I see that Netscape continue to not mention their Microsoftian CSS3 effort.

Also, there is no CSS property "bgcolor". I do hope that was simply a short-hand for "background-color".

Be sure to uncompress M5 into a fresh directory if it is crashing on you.

I am impressed once again. When is Javascript going to be running? I do not see a specific reference in the roadmap.

And when will we be seeing support for a proxy server? This is restricting some of us from testing.

M5/Linux locks up at http://www.microsoft.com/backstage/

But M4 renders it properly!!

The build doesn't work on my Sun Solaris Box. (egcs-1.1.1; mozilla-5.0-M5.tar.gz) I ran 'configure' with no specialities.

make[3]: Entering directory `/usr1/extend/rosenthal/mozilla/obj-sparc-sun-solaris2.5/editor/txtsvc/src' c++ -o nsTextServicesDocument.o -c -fno-rtti -fno-exceptions -Wp,-MD,.deps/nsTextServicesDocument.pp -include ../../../config-defs.h -g -fPIC -DDEBUG -UNDEBUG -DDEBUG_rosentha -DTRACING -DOSTYPE=\"SunOS5\" -DSingleSignon -DCookieManagement -DClientWallet -I../../../dist/./include -I../../../dist/include -I../../../../include -I/usr/openwin/include ../../../../editor/txtsvc/src/nsTextServicesDocument.cpp ../../../../editor/txtsvc/src/nsTextServicesDocument.cpp: In method `nsresult nsTextServicesDocument::DeleteSelection()': ../../../../editor/txtsvc/src/nsTextServicesDocument.cpp:905: `eRTL' is not a member of type `nsIEditor' make[3]: *** [nsTextServicesDocument.o] Error 1

Is there a "default" procedure to fix errors like this?

Another question: Would you recommend using -frtti and/or -fexceptions with egcs?

Thanks, Jurij

This is my prefs50.js file, please check it, cos I still can't send E-mail as I really want to do so.

Milestone 5 is available but it still does not even run on my system. I open apprunner and the window appears and all that is in it is a screenshot of my desktop. I guess I will have to wait for M6.

On my school-comp with Win95 everything O.K. although much slower than M4. On friend's comp (with Win95 too) crashes on images and cannot handle non-div "style.verso.com/boxacidtest/".

Hypherlinks with space inside (e.g. "href='a 233e.htm'") doesn't work. Maybe it's not bug.

In Czech (and Slovak) "Ch" is one letter. So ":first-letter" (with "charset=iso-8859-2") should handle it.

Thanks for CSS2 selectors! Great work!
