New Sidebar Flash Panel

Saturday May 1st, 1999

Here's something new for all of you who haven't been keeping up with the nightly builds. The sidebar area now contains a "flash panel". What is a "flash panel"? From the flash panel specification: "The Flash Panel is a panel in the Sidebar that contains up-to-the-minute information about events that are of direct importance to the current user, including e-mail notification, (both "local" and web-based email), alerts for calendar events, current market information, and online-presence information (e.g., via the AIM protocol)." Oh for crying out loud, if I hear one more person whine about how Internet Explorer is "beating" Netscape, it's going to suck for me.

This is not a holy war, this is not a race, this is not a to-the-death competition, it is a project trying to make a great web browser for use by whomever sees a need for it. Sheesh!

So IE5 is used by a lot of people, and it's got some new geegaws... Woo-f-ing-hah... So people use it, woo-f-ing-hah. It's a tool, not a religion folks.
