Mozilla.org Web Innovator of the Year!!!Saturday May 1st, 1999The votes are in, and Mozilla.org has been named Web Innovator of the Year in the Builder.com poll. Congratulations to everyone! Thanks to Dan Haddix for the great news. congratulations guys! "good things come to those who wait" . . . "Rome wasn't built is a day" . . . "you reap what you sew" . . "build it and they will come" . . etc . . . you know - Yeah me too. Ofcourse it's not an suprise at all. lala =) It's great news and it means we're winning over the website developers-the same people who will decide if we need a standards-compliant browser or a MS only browser to see the web. A bit off Topic but I just downloaded the May 1 Mac build and it is awesome! A few weeks ago and I would of poopooed this as ballot stuffing. Heck a week ago I would of dissed it as unrealistic. Up until the post M4s I was disappointed with the progress the browser (as opposed to components) was making. I am now ready to download Mozilla on my home machine and start showing it off! Congradulations to all who have worked hard so far! A happy user writing on Build ID 1999050108. Pardon me for bragging a little, but I was the first or second member of Builder.com's Builder Buzz to offer Mozilla.org's name in nomination -- and of course, I voted that way, as well. (BTW, I started and keep a Mozilla thread going in the Buzz Reception Area -- feel free to stop by anytime to share news/views/whatever...) It's thoroughly awesome to see something I voted for WIN, for once. ;-) Go, Mozilla, go!! On a sadder note, 04-29-99-08 doesn't do very well on the Box Acid Test -- I'll get the 05-01 or 05-02 and see if it's doing any better. GAAAAAAH!! I really hate the way URLs get minced up here... I was referring to Builder.com's Builder Buzz Web developer's community at buzz.builder.com. Hope the space bar bug is fixed in M5, btw... zontar: Regarding the Box Acid Test problem, if you resize the window it should fix itself. zontar: Don't include any HTML in your page (see the note at the top of the forum response form). Just include the URL (preferably on a line by itself). We take care of the rest. Why do we handle URLs this way? Because with regularity URLs would be submitted that were HUGE, and they would cause the entire page to be expanded horizontally to handle them. This was a major problem. So, we decided to convert the URLs we found, ourselves. |
