Mozilla Japan Launches as Second International Mozilla Foundation Affiliate
Wednesday August 18th, 2004
Mozilla Japan, a new international affiliate of the Mozilla Foundation launches today. The new group is similar in purpose to the Mozilla Europe group that was founded earlier this year. Mozilla Japan aims to localise Mozilla products for the Japanese market, provide services to help organisations migrate to Mozilla and build the Japanese Mozilla community.
Mozilla Japan is backed by Ten Art-ni, the leading provider of open-source solutions in Japan. Chaired by President of the Tokyo University of Technology Hideo Aiso, the Board includes Keio University's Professor Hideyuki Tokuda, Ten Art-ni CEO Nobuo Kita, former Netscape Japan employee Satoko Takita and another Ten Art-ni worker, Motohiro Egota.
The Mozilla Foundation has a press release about Mozilla Japan. Mgz sent us a link to CNET News.com article about the new organisation, which fills space by noting that Mozilla is like Godzilla and Godzilla is Japanese.
