Are you trying to do this in Windows? The standard way to start ANY Windows Application at startup time, is to put a shortcut to the executable in the Stratup folder in the Start Menu. Why some applications chose to have this as an option from the GUI that creates registry entries to make it happen is beyond me. Just makes it harder for the average user to figure out how to get them NOT to start if that is what is desired.
