Netscape 7.2 Release Within the First Two Weeks of AugustFriday July 30th, 2004eWeek have obtained confirmation from AOL that Netscape 7.2 will be released in early August. AOL spokesperson Andrew Weinstein told eWeek that the new version will be available within the first two weeks of August. Previous speculation has centered around an August 3rd release but Weinstein says that this date is just the deadline for placing early CD orders. He also confirmed that Netscape 7.2 will be based on Mozilla 1.7 with "not a lot of additive features". However, eWeek mentions the possible inclusion of the Netscape Toolbar, which is currently only available for Internet Explorer. A screenshot from former Netscape employee Pascal Chevrel seems to confirm this. Correction: Pascal Chevrel was never employed by Netscape. Oops. #17 Re: netscape and firefoxby JuanGonzalez Sunday August 1st, 2004 11:45 AM You are replying to this message I've seen many times in the past a small Nescape advertisement on the first screen of CNN, US edition: <http://us.cnn.com> , and it is still there now, of course. I'm wondering if it's a permanent Netscape ad on CNN (a Time Warner company, you know). |
