Well that is pretty bloody crap. For the average user, or even a power user, it is not immediately apparent that the security fix has been applied. The security fix should be listed in the extension manager.
When I go to another system running firefox I should be able to determine at a glance whether the fix has been applied, not follow a convoluted process.
