#1 Just wondering...

I've always wondered... no big deal, but... Why are these "minutes of staff meetings" always published after a week (or two) ? Just because of lack of time to publish, or is there a purpose to it?

My guess would be one of the following:

(a) they only publish the minutes after they have been approved at the subsequent meeting. If you do everything by the book, minutes are not official until they have been approved.

(b) the minutes are posted privately to the attendants, and after everyone agrees that everything confidential has been removed, the minutes are posted publically. The delays are most likely due to people getting side tracked in this case.

The answer is b). There's a two or three day approval period. However, as they've normally slipped miles up my inbox by then, it can be the next week before I remember, fish them out and post them :-)

The minutes are "by Gervase Markham" yet signed by Marcia, or maybe I missed something?

I think Marcia actually writes up the minutes, but Gerv is the one to post them to the newsgroup. Why that is, I couldn't say :).

I always post the minutes; they are always "signed" by whoever took notes during the meeting. I normally do both functions, but you'll notice I wasn't present at this one.

#7 IRC Channel Connection

Chatzilla in 1.6 never connects for me to the bugday channel. I'm behind a firewall, but it used to work with Mozilla 1.4. Anyone have some hints?
