Please speak for yourself. A lot of people couldn't care less about Firebird.

ouch, that is rough. While I do agree it was a huge generalization, most (I would say 88%) of extensions are Firebird oriented and only then back-ported to mozilla. Heck this has been the case since Extension-Room was first started. So his sacrasm is not so inapropriote in the thread. (athough this is the first Indep. Status report I have seen with so many Suite-only/compatible extensions. Pretty cool.

True, but there are quite a few extensions (it was about 3 out of 10 when I counted a few months ago) for Firebird which are porting Mozilla features which haven't been included in Firebird.

Anyway, the whole Firebird vs Mozilla thing has pretty much nothing to do with the independent status reports and we're all just adding to the original stupid off-topic post.

Yeah, this is off topic :) And you are right, there are "quite a few extensions for Firebird which are porting Mozilla features".

But again, this is only "quite a few", out of currently 142 extensions for Firebird. :)

My whole purpose is not to flame war Suite/Vs/*Birds, just to bring up the argument that thanks to the *birds, we have many more extension devs these days. I appreciate the suite as many others do, I just hate to see the *birds/dev/love/hate emotions in the community. They are both very important.

When I counted, it was something like 30 out of 105.

If you look at the stuff mentioned in this update (he said, desperately attempting to get back on topic), they seem to be Mozilla only or Mozilla and Firebird. I'm not sure anyone was attempting to have a suite vs birds flame war. The initial post implied that nobody cared about any of this stuff and "we" only wanted Firebird news, bzbarsky's response was pointing out that there are people that don't care about Firebird and do care about this stuff...

People screamed about the suite being bloated and now most of you install all sorts of 'bloatware'...just to get it back in line with the suite...or to get even more features installed...I still don't get it...Bleh :-)

Q: What is the scientific name for this human behaviour?

Doesn't "Independent" mean "not coded by mozilla guys"?

FB is "coded by mozilla guys"...

In this context it means "not hosted at mozilla.org". Most (but not all) projects included in the independent reports are hosted at mozdev.org.

#3 Wish there was a status update for this extension

Any word if there will be an update to Flash Click to View that'll permanently enable flash for specific pages? I've dying to see that feature implemented one of these days. :)
