Epiphany 1.1.0, Galeon 1.3.10 and K-Meleon 0.8 Beta 833 Released

Sunday October 26th, 2003

GnomeDesktop.org is reporting that Epiphany 1.1.0 has been released. Based on Mozilla, Epiphany is the standard browser of the GNOME desktop environment. Epiphany 1.1.0 is a development release and requires GTK+ 2.3 or above and Mozilla 1.4 or higher (1.5 is recommended). The latest stable version of Epiphany is 1.0.4. Both versions can be downloaded from the Epiphany project site. Thanks to Adam Hauner of CZilla for the news.

In addition, version 1.3.10 of the Mozilla-based Galeon browser came out today. Like Epiphany, Galeon is also a GTK+ browser for GNOME and this latest release is also an unstable development build. The Galeon site has more information and download links for both the new 1.3.10 version and the stable 1.2.12 release.

Finally, a new beta of K-Meleon 0.8 is now available. K-Meleon is a Mozilla-based Windows browser. The latest stable version is 0.7, available from the K-Meleon site.

I just tried the K-Mel Beta...It's still the fastest Win32 Gecko browser around. This has the potional of being the Firebird for slower PCs.
