Introduction to Creating Web Applets with XUL

Saturday October 18th, 2003

IBM developerWorks has an article about creating Web applets using XUL. The introduction explains the basics of XUL, gives an example of a simple XUL applet and takes a look at using scripting to enable richer functionality. The article is written by Nigel McFarlane, whose forthcoming book Rapid Application Development with Mozilla is due in November. Thanks to Doron Rosenberg for informing us about this article.

Wow, <> is directly-styled XML! Where is this documented? I've associated an XSLT file with XML to turn it into XHTML, which works across Mozilla and Win MSIE, but I didn't know you could skip the XSLT and just CSS the XML.

That page looks awful in Safari and crashed MSIE Mac 5.2 immediately, but still very very cool. Thanks!
