New License!Tuesday February 23rd, 1999With the upcoming first anniversary of Mozilla's release, Netscape has updated the license in various areas. First, the license protects developers from being sued more than the first version of the NPL did. Second, Netscape has looked over the feedback from the license and has fixed or changed some bugs and problems in the license. The third, and biggest change, is that you can now publish your code under multiple licenses. For instance, to demonstrate this, Netscape has announced that they will release their Javascript interpreter under both the NPL and the GPL. The new license can be found here and a new FAQ explaining the changes can be found here. GPL JavaSript? Heaven! Super, hope we some day can get a clean gpl version :-) |
