Mozedit 0.1 Alpha for Mozilla Firebird

Friday September 12th, 2003

Mark Bokil writes: "I wrote a Notepad-like text editor extension for Firebird. It provides easy editing access to userChrome.css and userContent.css files, buffers similar to Emacs, document history, UI font/color options, and in-line HTML rendering preview, plus access to the JavaScript Console. This is a 0.1 alpha release of Mozedit for Firebird. It currently has dependencies on JSLib. Give it a whirl and let me know what you think."

I like the idea of a Mozilla-based notepad a lot, here are a few suggestions:

1. Make it a standalone application, rather than an extension. 2. Add support for right-to-left paragraph direction (for Hebrew and Arabic users). 3. Ditch the orange color. White is the what most users prefer in text editors.

Good luck!
