ActiveState Komodo Wins LinuxWorld Open Source Product Excellence Award

Wednesday August 27th, 2003

Adam Hauner wrote in to tell us that ActiveState Komodo, the Mozilla-based integrated development environment, won the Open Source Product Excellence Award for Best Development Tools at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo 2003 in San Francisco earlier this month. More information is available in ActiveState's press release and the Product Excellence Awards media announcement.

Not to sound like an asshole, but I think LinuxWorld awards are bullshit. These are not open source products from what I can tell. Also, Komodo is really cool, but what about Eclipse or IntelliJ or other tools... is Komodo really the best IDE out there and its not even open source??? How about MS.NET IDE with WINE, lol...

Komodo is cool and all but I don't think most people really care about most of those products listed and given awards. They are all proprietary anyway.
