Experimental Mozilla Sunbird Build Released for Windows

Sunday August 10th, 2003

On Thursday, the first experimental test build of Mozilla Sunbird for Windows was released. Previously, only Linux binaries of Sunbird have been available. Sunbird is a standalone version of Mozilla Calendar, similar to Mozilla Firebird (the standalone browser) and Mozilla Thunderbird (the standalone mail and newsgroups client).

I've loving Sunbird, although I'm still tinkering with WebDav to get my shared calendar working right. But I'd love to see a yellow flame or whatever instead of the Zilla head icon. Yeah and the throbber's frickin' huge, but I assume thats on someone's todo list. I've become hooked on the Firebird/Thunderbird combo on windows and linux. It's nice to be able to have the same apps everywhere I go. Now if I can get WebDav and LDAP up and running right, I can use the same apps with the same data anywhere (with a net connection). I shiver with excitement at the thought.
