Mozilla Firebird Makes Installing Additional Search Engines Easier

Saturday August 9th, 2003

eiseli writes: "Yesterday, August 8, Blake Ross checked in a long awaited feature: Up to now, it was quite hard to discover the Mycroft website in order to add custom search engines to the search box in Mozilla Firebird. With the checkin, a new menu item 'Add engines...' has been added after the installed plugins. This kind of bookmark will take you to the Mycroft download page. See a screenshot here: http://mycroft.mozdev.org/images/fbshot04.png."

This change is just one of many recent enhancements made to Mozilla Firebird recently. Look out for an article tomorrow examining some of the other highlights.

I have the same feeling, with Webbar you can put Search panel (with multisearch) to FB sidebar. But it doesn't work - I think because code for Search Panel isn't completed in FB, but my bug #215520 about it was quickly closed INVALID ;-( It is sad. Search panel in the sidebar is great feature.
