Mozilla Foundation Accepting Cheque Donations

Friday August 1st, 2003

The Mozilla Foundation is now accepting donations made using cheques (presumably only in US dollars) in addition to PayPal contributions. Corporate donations are also welcome. See the new donations page for details.

Donations to the Mozilla Foundation help to pay for bandwidth costs, salaries for developers (the Foundation plans to employ about ten), hardware purchases and other expenses.

I second that. Although banks do take a good cut with international transfers (at least French banks do), which is a pity when you can contribute only modest sums. It would be perfect, were there small non-profit national associations to gather the money and then wire it, say once per month/quarter, to the Moz. Foundation, thus saving a lot of bank expenses. But it may be too complicated and/or too heavy a structure...
