Mozilla Thunderbird 0.1 Roadmap and Release Candidate

Thursday July 24th, 2003

In the Thunderbird General forum, Scott MacGregor has outlined the plans for Mozilla Thunderbird 0.1. Referring to the first milestone as "long over due", Scott describes how this week's build (available for Windows already) will act as a release candidate, with the official release of Thunderbird 0.1 arriving a few days later. More information about what's new in the release candidate has been posted to the Thunderbird Builds forum.

Update: A GTK 2 Linux release candidate and an updated Windows build are now available.

Good stuff, Scott. I've just finished building the latest Thunderbird for Linux and I've so far only put a couple of hours of use on it but it's looking an d working fantasticly. The new three-pane interface is very nice with the fix for the "jiggling" problem I was having. The new attachment UI is awesome and everything else seems to be working just fine.

Hopefully a glibc 2.2.x build will be available for people with an older system.
