Jazilla Now Using Modified XUL Files from Mozilla Application Suite XPFE

Tuesday July 8th, 2003

Mathew McBride writes in with news about Jazilla, the project to rewrite Mozilla in Java: "Just as mozilla.org is killing off the 'fat' browser, as of the 8th of July, Jazilla now uses modified XUL files from XPFE. It can't do a lot at the moment, but stuff like the Debug and QA menus are working fine." XPFE (Cross-Platform Front-End) is the Mozilla Application Suite (SeaMonkey) XUL toolkit. With the transition to Mozilla Firebird and Mozilla Thunderbird, mozilla.org is phasing out XPFE in favour of a new XUL toolkit. MozillaZine reported on the release of Jazilla Milestone 1 in May.
