mozdev Back Up With Limited Service

Monday July 7th, 2003

Pete Collins writes: "mozdev is back up on the new server hardware w/ limited services and tools available." This follows on from Friday's denial of service attack, which knocked the site offline.

Update! Pete writes: "Ok, the FBI just called me. They take this stuff pretty seriously. They are investigating the attack on mozdev."

#1 Good to see mozdev back

It's good to see that mozdev is back on it's legs, even if it is limping a bit! The site provides an invaluable service to the Mozilla Community and, as the comments here show, many were annoyed at it being attacked by thoughtless script kiddies with nothing better to do.

Go mozdev!

Usually the FBI don't take it seriously unless there are several thousand dollars in losses.

Well, whatever the case, I hope the FBI can help catch the culprits. That'll teach them a lesson.

Agreed. No-loophole arrests and lengthy convictions would be nice. No more slaps on the wrist. It's about time irresponsible and criminal behaviour are duly rewarded with matching sentences.
