New Poll Up

Saturday December 26th, 1998

Well, we had a great response to the last poll (which is why we kept it around for so long). To tell you the truth, we sort of expected that kind of reaction.

To the question, "What features would you most like to see integrated into Seamonkey?", the winner was "Just the Browser Please" with 43% of the vote, followed by "Better FTP" with 27%, and "ICQ Client" a distant third at 10%.

It's interesting to note that although 43% wanted "Just the Browser", we had a huge number of responses (over 125!) with wishes for new features. Those wishes are being put to good use; expect more news on this in the next week or two.

A new poll is up for your holiday enjoyment.

If this wasn't mentioned already - the ability to pass email or ftp urls (or http downloads) to an external application, like GetRight does right now for downloads.

So I can click on an email and run the Gnome email client, and when I download files they're downloaded by wget.

I think ICQ, FTP, and etc. "plugins" that expand upon a base install would be the route to go.

I would like to see Mozilla interoperate with GNOME. Now that they're using GTK anyway, they could better work on Balsa for the Linux version of Mozilla instead of giving me another MB of HD-waste.

I hate double work :-(
