Sounds like the whole perf thing is not as clear-cut in that comparison as it is when comparing Safari to Chimera (off the 1.0 branch) or Netscape 7 (1.0 branch) on a broadband in-lab connection... ;)"

That page is actually scary (watching it render on a 20030130 build) - if I scroll to the bottom as the page renders, I can see it rendering almost a word at a time... a word appears, then a few more, then a burst of them, then I have to scroll down.... rinse, repeat. In the meantime the throbber isn't animating (does this mean it's received from the network but is still just rendering...?)
