Sam, your reasoning doesn't take into account that an equal number of even greater number of users (those who care) might have voted _against_ the feature given the chance. It also doesn't take into account the dismally small number of people who vote. There are over 50,000 bugzilla accounts and a the most voted for bugs only ever approach half of one percent of the total bugzilla users. And bugzilla users are just a tiny minority of Mozilla users. I think you give way too much weight to votes. If I say 6,000 votes in a bug I'd consider lending significant weight to that feature request. But that doesn't happen. Sometimes we get 100 or 200 votes (very rarely) and that's just not significant.
