The Mozilla Developer News weblog's announcement of Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 includes more details of interest to developers. The next beta release of Firefox will be labeled Firefox 3.5 Beta 4. The decision to rename Firefox 3.1 to Firefox 3.5 reflects the sheer volume of work that makes it feel more than a small update to Firefox 3.0 A security and stability update for Firefox 3.0 was released recently. Firefox 3.0.7 includes fixes for several critical security and stability issues. As always, you can try it out using the portable version from PortableApps.com so it doesn't mess with your local install: http://portableapps.com/news/2009-03-12_-_firefox_portable_3.1_beta_3 Mozilla Developer News weblog's announcement of Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 link is wrong. The correct URL is https://developer.mozilla.org/devnews/index.php/2009/03/12/firefox-31-beta-3-now-available-for-download/ . The setting privacy.sanitize.promptOnSanitize no longer seems to work. I always set this to false. I LOVED being able to Ctrl+Shift+Del and have everything cleaned up without a prompt. It's great when somebody arrives and you want to quietly clear the private data. The star for one click bookmarks that is in Firefox 3.0 does not seem to be there in Firefox 3.1 beta3. Is there anything that I can do to restore it? My error. The star is there. I looked in the wrong place on the page. The http://www.mozilla.com has FireFox 3.5 beta series in the website. Is it same as FireFox 3.1 beta? Visit me At http://veera.uni.cc Looks like this site has been abandoned to the spammers. Seems to me if that so, though -- the link from Mozilla.org ought to be removed. Also, Firefox 3.5rc3 is released: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.5rc3/releasenotes/ |
