Phoenix on BeOS

Saturday November 9th, 2002

SbooX writes: "I stopped using BeOS a while back, when it finally looked like Be Inc. was going under and when I got an incompatible gfx card, but I still follow BeOS developments with interest, hoping to someday fire up OpenBeOS. Good news is that it looks like arougthopher has gotten Phoenix to work on BeOS! He hasn't released a build yet (because he didn't get drag 'n drop working yet) but he did put up a screenshot for all to see."

I've seen OS/2 and FreeBSD Phoenix builds on the FTP server. I've heard that people have gotten Phoenix to run on OS X and BeOS. Does the Phoenix team bless all of this?

No. The Phoenix team will not endorse a build for Mac OS X; they view that platform to be the job of the Chimera team. However, it's rumored that they may work on a Mac OS 9 build.
