Probably this is expected to be a feature, but for me it is a severe bug. I'm using a touchpad with extra mouse buutons. Very often when I click on a tab to show it, it gets ripped off to a newly opened window... probably due to little movements of my finger on the touchpad while clicking with another one, or even due to a mechnical bug in the touchpad itself, because it also often happens that the cursor jumps when I'm clicking. While this is annoying more than enough, the new feature in Firefox makes it a lot worse, to a point that I will switch to another browser - after many happy years of using Netscape 2.x?, 3.x, 4.x, Moz <1.0+, Ff1.0+ - if this cannot be turned off. I looked up about:config all options containing tab or window, but didin't find anything relevant.
