Linux Orbit Reviews Phoenix 0.2Monday October 7th, 2002Linux Orbit has a review of Phoenix 0.2. Awarding the browser four stars, the review describes Phoenix as "fast, snappy, surpassingly stable, somewhat configurable and very useable." Do the tabs in Phoenix 0.2 close the same way as mozilla yet? Or is that a "feature"? When I tried out phoenix 0.1 it seemed like a step backwards to me. I like all the other changes they have made though. It still closes differently to mozilla. However, I've noticed after installing the tab extensions (can't remember site offhand), the behaviour is changed to how mozilla does it. Much better IMHO anyway, as new window commands now can open in new tabs too. What's this? is this guy plain wrong or have I missed something? "Not for E-Mail and all the other bells and whistles that the full blown Mozilla browser suite offers, although I think they will be adding the mail client soon" Minotaur is the separate app for mail, but I didn't think they'd both be included in the same install. Possibly as an add-on? Also, I've downloaded the releases and even first pre-mozilla.org supported binaries and never had a profile window come up. I know i've deleted my profiles before installing new versions and copied the essential ones back post-install though. Read the FAQ http://www.mozilla.org/projects/phoenix/phoenix-release-notes.html#FAQ , question 15 (about Thunderbird). Alex Yeah, right. Phoenix is fast, snappy, surpassingly stable, somewhat configurable, and very usable if you just so happen to be a BLUI addicted Mozilla user. However, for the rest of the world it is a project destined to go absolutely no where.
