ActiveState Komodo 2.0 Released
Wednesday September 25th, 2002
ActiveState has launched version 2.0 of its Komodo development environment. Komodo is a Mozilla-based IDE for Windows and Linux that provides a workspace for editing, debugging and testing applications written in open-source languages such as Perl and Python. Currently, only the Windows version of Komodo 2.0 is available; the Linux version is still in beta with a final release date set for October this year. More information and a 21-day trial can be found at the Komodo web site.

While having a free Komodo 1.1 around was "nice" for some, we needed to encourage people to use the current version, if for no other reason that it's much better software. Academic institutions (the main audience of the original free version) can still get Komodo for free through our educational program.
While your specific interest is in the Rx Toolkit, the new 2.0 Personal Edition is very reasonably priced and we hope that some of the other features will make it worth your while. -Matt, Product Manager, Komodo, ActiveState
