netscape.mozilla.developers.general

Thursday August 29th, 2002

Netscape Champion Jay Garcia has created a new newsgroup for Mozilla developers on Netscape's secure news server (secnews.netscape.com). The new group, netscape.mozilla.developers.general, is intended for Mozilla and Netscape developers and contributors working on Mozilla as well as the Netscape programmers working on Netscape 7.x and beyond.

netscape.mozilla.developers.general is only available on secnews.netscape.com, which requires a secure (SSL) connection to port 563. If you're using Mozilla, the following link should automagically subscribe you to the group:

snews://secnews.netscape.com:563/netscape.mozilla.developers.general

For more information, read the announcement about the new group and the group's introductory post. Please remember that this group is for developers; end user questions should be directed elsewhere.

What happened to the idea of dropping the netscape.public. part of all the newsgroups? I remember a while ago there was a post saying the n.p.m.* groups were all going to be closed on a set date.
