I read through the Mozilla Calendar page and I am still a bit unclear on the ultimate goal. Is it to build a personal calendar which can be shared to a limited extent, or to produce a groupware calendar that could be used to replace Lotus Notes or Microsoft Exchange?

The need for a group calendar system is probably the one factor that keeps many sites using MS Exchange.
