OEone and OpenOffice.org Announce Partnership

Thursday August 22nd, 2002

Mike Potter writes: "OEone and OpenOffice.org have announced a new partnership that will see the two groups work together to bring OpenOffice applications to OEone HomeBase and see the Mozilla Calendar data integrated into the OpenOffice suite." This will allow OpenOffice users to access their Mozilla Calendar events directly from within OpenOffice. The integration of OpenOffice applications into HomeBase will work much like the existing AbiWord plug-in. More details are available in OEone's press release.

Hopefully Openoffice will start using Mozilla as their UI :) that would be great! Cross platform, standard buttons etc. I know there's been talk of it in the past and this is just a little extra to add to the talk.

Hate to say this.. but unfortunatly on my laptop I only have room for 1 OS (old laptop) and hence use Windows (=( I suck). Anyone know how hard it would be to implement the plugin for windows. WOuld be nice to have Abiword in Mozilla.

Cheers <>< JED

There is a version of AbiWord for Windows. Go to http://www.abisource.com/ for more. I've used their Windows build, and it's pretty good. Plus, you don't suck for using Windows.

Yeah, I actually have it installed, what I was wondering though was if the plugin works in windows (to have abiword in Mozilla) and if not, it's it's doable? Thanks.
