Mozilla Splash Generator for Mac OS X

Sunday July 7th, 2002

Jake Thompson writes: "Mac OS X users can now enjoy changing the splash screen of Mozilla, just like Windows users. Mallet and Bare have released a program called Mozilla Splash Generator, which modifies Mozilla's resource fork to change the splash screen. This site will probably go over the bandwidth limit, so a mirror has been created."

A fine selection of splash screens can be found at mozdev. And in case you've forgotten, you can change the splash screen on Windows by placing an image named mozilla.bmp in your Mozilla program folder. Linux users have to recompile.

I hate the splash screens in windows. All my shortcuts are mozilla.exe -nosplash but sometimes windows auto starts when I click on a link and I have to use the splash. On my 1.1ghz machine it loads fast enough w/o one. I wish there was a preference in prefs.js to turn it off.
