Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 3 ReleasedSunday February 24th, 2008Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 3 was released for testing on February 12, 2008. The third beta of the next major Firefox version offers around 1300 bug fixes over Beta 2, including improvements in malware protection, bookmarking capabilities and the download manager. The latest beta also boasts of improved performance, including fixes for over 350 memory leaks. Firefox 3 Beta 3 can be downloaded from the Firefox beta page. The Firefox 3 Beta 3 Release Notes have more details, including information about what's new in Firefox 3 and what's been improved in this specific milestone. The Mozilla Developer News weblog's announcement of Firefox 3 Beta 3 includes links of interest to developers. It seems that FF 3 beta 3 has issues with posting large amounts of info. The following online file upload app works fine with IE, Opera, FF2, FF1, Safari etc. However, FF3 has a really hard time pushing post data. http://www.webdice.org/uber_uploader/ Marty Sweeten of Hard Money Placement in Washington is a crooked broker who will take your personal information then turn your loan down after saying it can be closed. First off, I think you spelled his name wrong. I think its "Sweetin" but I could be wrong other than that though, your posing doesn't make much sense. Why is he crooked? He took your info and then said it couldn't be done. Boo Hoo. I have known him since the first of the year and have put over 30 transactions past him. Some worked out and some did not. Because some didn't work, does that make him crooked? I told one of my kids yesterday that they couldn't go play with a particular friend after I had told him "We'll see". Am I a crooked mom? He may be slow at times but all my lenders are slow, if you know what I mean but I think your language is a bit strong. Sir - This is not in answer to your email. Do you know how to sort bookmarks in Firefox 3 Beta 3? I've tried to click on 'Check all Bookmmarks' and attempted all sorts of sorts, but nothing has worked! Email: brunkel@acm.org As a side note, do a largish upload (~4MB) to get a good consistent reading. The progress bar will initially jump by small amounts due to the fact it is predictive and it is figuring out how far to predict in the future. However, FF3 jumps back and forth by huge amounts making the progress bar pretty much useless. Progress bar code can be found here if anyone is interested. http://sourceforge.net/projects/uber-uploader/ You can try it without affecting your local Firefox 2 install by using Mozilla Firefox, Portable Edition 3 Beta 3: http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/test #4 Re: Try it without impacting your normal Firefox 2by greenknight Wednesday February 27th, 2008 4:04 AM You don't need to use the portable version for that if you create a new folder and install the beta into it, and create a new Firefox profile to use with it. For more info: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=613873 - Bookmark management is not 100% functional, yet. You can't drag & drop bookmarks and folders, either with bookmark manager or directly on the Bookmarks menu. You must use cut & paste. - Firefox complains if one starts it right after the previous session was shutdown. He/she must wait for a few seconds - Sometimes it silently fails to show up during startup (eg when started from a http link inside TB) and remains as 'ghost' in memory. These are a few FF3 annoying problems still not addressed with beta3. They are all related to the new sql-lite bookmarks database I think. But glitches like these are to be expected from a beta release. Well, the same issues with firefox complaining after closing it and starting it quickly after exists in firefox 2, it needs time to save settings and do whatever it has to do before a new one can be immediately started. It would be nice if that was fixed though. Hi! I am a UI Developer. I am currently using Firefox 2.0.0.12 and it kept crashing all the time. Can't count how many times and it's really getting into my nerve particularly when I am working. This is totally bad for user experience. I've been using Firefox for years and it's my most favourite browser but I am getting more crashes recently and it's getting worse and 'worser'. I heard from my colleague this wasn't solved even on version 3.0. (quote) "This version of Firefox isn't ready yet! You've downloaded a release candidate of Firefox 3 Beta 4." (end quote) Why is this offered on File Hippo as FF3 Beta 4 if it really isn't?
