#1 new energy at mozdev

I've been following a number of plug-in, bolt-on and other assorted Mozilla-based projects at mozdev since before it was mozdev and it's good to see things are recently re-energized over there. I look forward to each of these weekly updates and thank the individual mozdev project managers, David Boswell, and the mozillaZine staff ;) for this service. Keep up the good work.

#2 MyCroft and Sherlock and MacIntosh

Your response that many search plugins for Mycroft no longer work. Using the Mozilla on Mac OS X I had not noticed this. All of the Apple suoolied plugins for Sherlock work with Mozilla exactly as if they were developed for Mycroft. I don't have any knowledge of the legal/copyright issues which may be involved, but would porting Sherlock plugins be an easy route to go. Would using all or part of the Sherlock plugins (supplied by Apple for Sherlock) save a lot of work? Especially for Linux the porting of plugins may be possible--I'm not sure about Windows.
BTW I hope the developers will allow Mozilla on the Mac continue to share the Apple supplied Sherlock folder for search engines.

The broken plugins I am talking about are those hosted by us. Of course, a great work-saver would be to port the sherlock plugins to Mozilla (by decompressing them and adding the browser update tag at the end. If you or anyone else has the time to do this, please go ahead. I'm ready to grant CVS access to anyone involved at this level.
