Tree Closes Tonight for Mozilla 0.9.9
Tuesday February 19th, 2002
mozilla.org will begin the process to release Mozilla 0.9.9 tonight at 11:59 pm pacific by closing the tree to free checkins. Mozilla 0.9.9 is the last major milestone prior to 1.0, and includes numerous bugfixes in composer, history, and other areas. Along with this, likely new features that will be in the milestone include a new full screen window mode, set image as wallpaper, and composer publishing.
Following the tree close tonight, expect up to a week of tree closure for stability and regression fixes, then a branch to be cut some time next week. As soon as the branch is cut, the trunk will reopen for Mozilla 1.0 checkins. mozilla.org is shooting for a March 1st release date, but due to this being the last milestone before 1.0, and because there is a large amount of code that will be landed tonight prior to tree close, delays may occur.

I have never seen anyone in these forums get insulted for pointing out problems.
I have seen people get criticized for HOW they point out problems; for example :
whining that no one from Mozillazine.org or mozilla.org is doing enough stuff fast enough. falsely accusing developers of intentionally ignoring "the most important bug" ignorantly insulting developers by saying that their code is sloppy or that a bug is easy to fix
repeatedly bitching about a known problem as if their annoying rants somehow help get the bug resolved constantly complaining that a bug has no patch yet when they themselves have never supplied a single patch for any bug
There are more reasons why people have been criticized in these forums, but I think variations of the above cover the most prevalent ones. If you are offended or insulted when someone criticizes you for one of these things then stop doing it and people will stop criticizing. The vast majority of the people posting here are able to discuss bugs without ever getting criticized; if you are one of the minority who cannot, then perhaps you should think about what you are doing differently than everyone else (hint: it probably has to do with your attitude).
