Gecko Appearing in Compuserve Betas

Thursday October 18th, 2001

AOL today confirmed that Gecko has been embedding into beta versions of CompuServe 7, according to this article. AOL 7 was released yesterday, still with IE as its embedded browser, but because CompuServe's software seems to be much like the AOL software, it's likely that we could also see AOL sporting Gecko as it's browser in the future.

At least there is one upside to this 1.0 thing. Once that branch is cut, all the 1.0-gotta-have-it's can go their way and the trunk can return to the aggressive incorporation of innovative idea that made this project so exciting when it started.

I miss those days and I'm looking forward to seeing what a post-1.0 Mozilla will morph into :-)
