Towards Mozilla 1.0
Tuesday June 26th, 2001
Gervase Markham recently posted his feelings on what a 1.0 release of Mozilla would be. Gerv has sent us the follow-up to that posting, including much of the feedback he received. To read it, click the full article link. Once you have read through it, we welcome you to post your feelings on what you think a 1.0 release would have. [As Gerv says, please don't post your favorite list of bugs, only the criteria for choosing what bugs to fix.]

Well, my 0.9.1 browser has been up since Monday morning (2 and a half days) without any issue. Of course, I don't visit the latest whiz-bang sites much so that may be a factor. I usually update the nighlies on one of my desktop machines every Monday morning, and I've let it slip a whole week without any problems before. The current generation of Mozilla browsers seem to crash about as frequently (if not more so) as Opera. I'd put this as my stability graph from least stable to most stable:
o Netscape 4.x o IE 5.5 o Opera / Mozilla o IE 5.0 o Netscape 2.x
But another bonus for Mozilla is that when it does crash, it won't take out your desktop with it like IE does. I usually use Linux, so that is reflected above -- perhaps the Linux version of Mozilla is more stable for some reason or other (?).
