Towards Mozilla 1.0
Tuesday June 26th, 2001
Gervase Markham recently posted his feelings on what a 1.0 release of Mozilla would be. Gerv has sent us the follow-up to that posting, including much of the feedback he received. To read it, click the full article link. Once you have read through it, we welcome you to post your feelings on what you think a 1.0 release would have. [As Gerv says, please don't post your favorite list of bugs, only the criteria for choosing what bugs to fix.]

Obviously, performance has been a top concern lately, and it should be. Hopefully Moz 1.0 will be quite a bit snappier than the current builds. Also, I hope that damn startup splash-screen is killed :-)
I really hope that XSLT would be ready to go into Moz 1.0. IE has it, and Moz should too.
There have been some AWESOME strides in SVG development lately. It would be VERY sad to not see them added to Moz 1.0.
Finally, how many people would be interested in seeing a 1.0 quality version of Jabberzilla in Mozilla 1.0? It is an IM client that works with Jabber, AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and has other cool features. It would sort of be the equivilent of Netscape 6 having AIM, so maybe Mozilla could use Jabberzilla?
