Towards Mozilla 1.0
Tuesday June 26th, 2001
Gervase Markham recently posted his feelings on what a 1.0 release of Mozilla would be. Gerv has sent us the follow-up to that posting, including much of the feedback he received. To read it, click the full article link. Once you have read through it, we welcome you to post your feelings on what you think a 1.0 release would have. [As Gerv says, please don't post your favorite list of bugs, only the criteria for choosing what bugs to fix.]
I think we are missing a point. Of course UI IS importantant. But in most of the cases ui issues will be dealt by different engineers than those working on say mail/news or working on improving the browser.
However having said that UI is important especially for the 90% of computer users who will judge a program by how it looks. If mozilla and hence netscape looks cool they'll give it a go and then might discover how good it actually is. If it looks bad like the first modern skin , they will not even bother with the browser.
