the new chatzilla has landed in the daily builds. It will be there for 0.8.1 Spread the word: "ChatZilla ROCKS!"
(remember that mozilla supports irc URLS so irc://irc.mozilla.org/mozillazine in a link will join a mozilla user to irc.mozilla.org #mozillazine withthe click of a mouse)

#4 IRC link question
by gwalla

so, is the format irc: //server/channelname? (without the space). What happens for channels that don't start with a #? (Like server-specific &channels, modeless +channels, or the occasional oddball !channels)

You can specify the leading character if you like. Just remember to escape the # and & characters. ChatZilla doesn't support !channels. This is the first I'd heard of them.
You can specify a network name or a server name as the first part of the url. Using the network name is useful for large networks with lots of servers, like um, efnet. The user will (eventually) be able to list the servers that they use on a particular network in prefs, so you won't have to worry about the details.
I just posted a document explaining all this (and more:) to mozilla.org. It hasn't shown up yet, but when it does, it'll be at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/irc-urls.html

Great stuff, well done! That will help the newbies, like Neil, oof don't punch me in the face for that Neil.
I told Neil to use 'RockZilla', he couldn't find the dawn thing. Told him Neil it's the good 'old' ChatZilla. LOL
He told me, that doesn't look the same to me does it? This baby rocks indeed.
