Richinstyle.com on Mozilla

Thursday July 20th, 2000

Raif Sevrance writes, "For those interested, richinstyle.com has been updated to reflect the bug status of the 2000071220 build (as opposed to the outdated M14 build that it was previously referring to) We're down from 101 to 91 bugs, but 24 of those occur for invalid HTML/CSS... Anyway - worth checking out in the quest for Zarro Boogs (tm)."

I'm not sure if the bug on triggering quirks mode should really be held against Mozilla. Quite often, the quirks are expected to be there by developers (I'm referring to differences in positioning/sizing/what-have-you, not bugwards compatibility) if they aren't using strict HTML.

However, I think the changes that are going to be made to the detection (or are made already?) are good; trigger quirks on broken or unspecified DTDs or older specified DTDs, and trigger strict for transitional with a valid DTD, anything strict, and anything XML, including XHTML. Unspecified DTDs are not valid HTML 4.0(1) and thus SHOULD trigger quirks mode (unlike what RichInStyle says).

Well speaking of Zarro Boogs and standards, the WSP has just put up something for netscape on their site:

and could someone fix the link in article above?

91 more to go, lets see... that would be 14 milestones more? ;-)

Seriously, I believe M17 will fair better (fingers crossed!).

Now if the bug table will get updated...
