Bugday Today!

Tuesday July 11th, 2000

Asa Dotzler writes, "It's BugDay again! 'What is Bugday?' you ask. BugDay is a collaborative bug hunting, reporting and triaging effort that happens every Tuesday evening in #mozillazine on IRC. If you've wanted to get more involved in testing Mozilla but didn't know where to start then come be a part of BugDay. Looking forward to seeing you all in #mozillazine this Tuesday evening (mid day to mid night USA time) helping to make Mozilla better."

#4 Memory use

Does anyone know what the target memory (RAM) footprint of Mozilla is? At the moment on both Linux and Windows for me, Mozilla starts at around 14 megs RAM use and creeps up to 30, at which time I shut it down, especially on NT, which is a memory hog anyway.

The minimum system requirements printed on the back of the Netscape 6 PR1 CD cases were something like "Pentium/486 133MHz or higher with 32Mb RAM"
