New Movement On Current Layout Engine's CSS Implementation

Wednesday October 14th, 1998

Incremental reflow has made its way into recent Mozilla builds, and with it a new focus on DOM support and CSS implementation. According to Mike Shaver, this new focus - project name Perignon - intends "to replace Mozilla's current CSS-1 implementation with one that uses the DOM for style information. We believe that this is the best way to fix Mozilla's current, er, sub-optimal handling of CSS-1, and we've already made good progress."

To check out the progress, and submit bugs, just download a nightly build from mozilla.org or an optimized build from our "fetchBuilds" section.
