Patterned after the PHP filesystem functions, simple functions such as file read/write and directory create are supported. The code has not yet made it into the nightly build, but they expect it will get in soon.

How is this handled by XUL files loaded off the web? (like the "try it now" links that the old chromeZone had)
do they then have I/O access to the originating server? or can they then write to the client filesystem? If so, would that require client approval (security warnings and such)
